Knowledge Management Course

KM gave me an impression of trying to take the most valuable items out of the workers, which we call them "knowledge", put them in the repository(or repositories) and readily shared by everyone in the group/under the corporations. While operated correctly, people could based on the knowledge shared to spark new innovations; However one main problem we have to face is that the employees are always refuse to let KM to be applied in their case: they are seeing their importances would be deemed loss after the KM processes, as their positions can be replaced by others who can take the knowledge from the repository - and then eventually take up the job.

One of major driving forces me to take the course would be:
Is KM really this cruel? Or, are there any benefits that can help the development of the staffs - instead of just counting towards to the managements?
